About Ocala Concrete Contractor Pros

Ocala Concrete Contractor Pros builds and fixes the flatwork around Ocala and Marion County homes: driveways, patios, stamped concrete, pool decks, slabs and repairs.

Two kinds of Ocala concrete

Point2Homes' summary of Census housing data puts the median Ocala home at 1984, and close to half of the city's houses date from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Original driveways and patios from those decades are now 35 to 60 years old, and many have cracked, sunk or been patched several times. The other half of the work is on newer homes, where the question is usually what the builder left out: a third parking spot, a slab under the lanai, a pad for a camper.

What shapes every Ocala pour

Rain. From June through September the city averages 13 to 18 rainy days a month, mostly in afternoon storms, so summer pours start early and covers stay on site.

Heat. Summer highs average about 90 to 92 degrees. Fresh concrete loses water fast in that heat, which is why curing starts the moment finishing ends.

Sand over limestone. The Ocala Limestone sits at or near the surface here, under sandy soil that drains well but settles if it is left loose. Compaction comes before forms.

Where the line is

Some problems are not concrete problems. If a slab keeps dropping because of something underneath it, new concrete on top will not fix it, and we say so before you pay for a pour. We also check, for each address, whether the City of Ocala or Marion County needs a permit for the work.
